About me
Alick Mac is a rapper, singer and songwriter based in the Comox Valley. His style is defined by his honest, vulnerable songwriting, evidenced by his award-winning single “Easier to Shout”, which tackles masculinity. Another distinguishing feature of Alick’s artistry is his versatility, demonstrated by recent releases “500 Days”, a soft melancholic piano ballad and “World in My Palm”, an infectious pop-rap track which centers around digital addiction.
In 2024 Alick finished as the 2nd place in the Music in Motion Canada Awards. In May 2025, Alick won the Zattzoo Project Battle of the Bands in Port Alberni. The following month he performed at “Lillaby Festivalen”, a music festival in the South of Sweden. An experienced performer, Alick has opened for the likes of Snotty Nose Rez Kids, Bankrol Hayden, Codefendants and Moka Only. Alick’s other accolades include finishing as a runner up in the Shipyards Got Talent competition in North Vancouver in both August 2024 and 2025, winning the 2026 Sooke Battle of the Bands and being a Semifinalist in the 2025 International Songwriting Competition.
In August 2025, Alick debuted his one man show "Boys' Club" at the Nanaimo Fringe Festival. Mixing personal anecdotes with original songs, “Boys' Club” offers reflections on masculinity, misogyny and mental health. The show finished second place as the 2025 Nanaimo Fringe "Pick of the Fringe". He is set to perform the show at the 2026 Edmonton, Nanaimo and Vancouver Fringe Festivals
